Peel Season 101: The Ultimate Fall Renewal

So why do we call it peel season, and why is everyone so excited for it? It’s because in skincare, the autumn months are considered the ideal time of year for deeper exfoliation.

During these later months we have less sun exposure to contend with. It also comes before the harsh winter months when skin can become too dry or compromised for a peel.

From pigmentation concerns to anti-aging benefits, chemical peels deliver highly concentrated ingredients to the skin.

Simply put, you’re getting benefits beyond what an at-home scrub or lightening serum can do.

Chemical peels are best done in a series, and your dermatologist may suggest a series of the same peel or different peels to target various skin concerns.

Here at Waverly DermSpa, we offer The Perfect Derma Peel which has proven to give you the most amazing results in little time!

The Perfect DermaTM Peel is safe, effective medium depth peel for All Skin Types & Ethnicities.

This product is virtually painless, with no pre-peel skin preparation and little downtime.

The Perfect DermaTM Peel is the only peel that includes the powerful antioxidant Glutathione, which lightens and brightens the skin, slows down the aging process and helps prevent wrinkles.

Benefits:

● Reduce or eliminate hyperpigmentation, sun damage and Melasma

● Stimulate the production of collagen, resulting in firmer, more youthful skin

● Reduce the appearance of pore size

● Improve acneic skin conditions and reduce acne scars

● Improve the overall clarity, tone and texture of the skin

Ingredients: Kojic Acid, Phenol, Glutathione and Vitamin C , TCA, Retinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid.

Immediately after the peel has been applied the skin will appear slightly pink and bronzed.

On day three, peeling will begin around the nose and then extends to cheeks and forehead.

the neck is peeled, this may not be as dramatic as the face’s peeling.

This is normal. The neck skin or other non-facial areas usually don’t experience as much peeling skin.

It doesn’t mean that the peel was ineffective. This skin also has to be treated more gently than facial skin to maintain safety.

The Perfect Derma Moisturizer (given to you in your post peel care kit) will reduce the visibility of peeling by hydrating and soothing your skin.

By day six or seven the peeling process should be mostly complete (especially for facial skin).

You’ll want to avoid any forms of exfoliation at home for the next 4-5 days, which includes scrubs, retinol, and AHA/BHAs.

Again, consult with your dermatologist on which products are right for at-home use.
